Asian wedding suppliers in Leicester: how to choose them, and who we trust

The best suppliers for a South Asian wedding in Leicester are the ones who already know your events: they know a Mandvo isn't a Sangeet, that the Vidaai can't be rushed, and that the food has to work for the whole family. Start with people someone you trust has actually booked, then check they can cover every event you're planning, not just the big day.
That's how we built the supplier list in Evaraa, our free wedding planner for South Asian and fusion couples.
Why choosing suppliers is harder for a South Asian wedding
Most wedding directories are built for one day and one venue. Ours usually have four or five events, each with different guests, food and settings. A caterer who's brilliant for 300 at a reception might not do a small Pithi at home. A DJ who's great at a party might not know when to bring in the dhol for the Baraat.
So the question isn't "who's good?", it's "who's good for this event?"
What to ask before you book
- Which of our events can you cover? Get it in writing, event by event.
- Have you worked a wedding like ours before? Gujarati, Punjabi, Muslim, fusion. Ask to see one.
- What's included, and what costs extra? Travel, set-up time, overtime and staff food are the usual surprises.
- For caterers: what about dietary needs? Pure veg, Jain, halal, no alcohol. Ask how they keep them separate.
- What happens if you can't make it? A good supplier has a backup plan.
- Can we see reviews or past work? Instagram, Google reviews and full galleries tell you more than a highlights reel. Optional: if you want extra reassurance, ask to speak to a couple they've worked with.
What "Krishna's pick" means
Some suppliers in Evaraa carry a Krishna's pick badge. That means I've booked them myself or seen their work first-hand. Everyone else is a supplier we've found and are getting to know. Every supplier is reviewed personally before they're listed.
